1. Big Idea

The "Big Idea" brand website is based on the concept of "scientifically analyzing consumer desires." The brand aims to provide not just specifications, but also exciting "experiences," and the site is full of elements designed to create that sense of excitement. Even the "nighttime cityscape" adorned with the Big Idea logo is exciting, isn't it?
Also noteworthy is the statement section. This appears to be a reinterpretation of the "old Bic Camera shopping bags" with their black backgrounds densely covered in colorful company logos. The "exhilarating feeling" of the shopping bag, with its colorful array of multiple fonts, sizes, and logos, has been directly redesigned into the statement and the footer's list of desires. The small, lined-up Big Idea logos are also cute.

2. Shinagawa Girls' Academy – Change Agent Project

This is the website for Shinagawa Girls' Academy's "Next 100 Years" mission formulation and branding project, which will mark the school's 100th anniversary in 2025. The project itself—a branding project for the next 100 years of the school, something unique to Shinagawa Girls' Academy—is very interesting, and the website itself is also captivating.
In addition to unique features, evidence, educational programs, and alumni interviews aimed at fostering a female entrepreneurial mindset,This site has a hidden feature called "Making Off" mode, which switches all the photos on the site to "photos of students taken by students."I was captivated by the contrast between the "presentational surface" of the project, such as its statement and overview, and the inseparable "emotional undercurrent" behind it. For the students, this site might also serve as a "secret, but fun memory."

3. "Advertisement" CASE #02 | Now is the time for you to play.

The magazine "Advertising" underwent a renewal in 2025, with a completely revamped editorial system, and both the magazine and its website are relentlessly cutting-edge, pushing the boundaries of convention. The theme of this latest issue, "Now is the time for you to play," is an extremely simple message, yet it reflects the times, a society and individuals striving for efficiency and optimization.
Of course, we're having a blast with the website too.The key point is that it's not just a "game that can be played entirely on the website," but something that users can actually play in this space.Suddenly being able to play block-breaking or shooting games, drawing all over the screen, or having illustrations raining down... I think the theme resonates critically precisely because users themselves "get to play right now."

4. Hakuten Recruitment Site

This recruitment website has a really interesting promotional video. At first, I thought it was just a video of employees holding posters, but...Actually, this photo was taken with a background paper held up behind an actual employee. Why is it that this alone can move me so deeply?
That is, I think it's because even a simple frontal pose becomes instantly more striking when a background is placed behind the person, as soon as that background paper is added.I believe that its unassuming "presence" is already radiant, and the brilliance of this project lies in how it brings out the "beauty of that unassuming presence" with just one idea: background paper.

5. Welcome to the Wavy Cardboard Swamp!

This landing page was created to showcase the potential of "single-sided corrugated cardboard" manufactured by Daiko Paper Co., Ltd. To help people imagine the copy's message, "Seven transformations to suit your needs, single-sided corrugated cardboard that can be used in a variety of ways," it's necessary to explain how single-sided corrugated cardboard can be transformed. The music video uses animation to depict the "seven transformations," and you'll be amazed at how this single-sided cardboard box changes into something else!
Furthermore, the distinctive "wavy" pattern of single-sided corrugated cardboard is used as a motif and incorporated into the visual design throughout. The character "Mr. Cardboard Dan-di," who appears here and there, is also great, resembling Noppo-san.

6. KIRIN MY WAYS

"KIRIN MY WAYS" is a website that collects the "values" that KIRIN Group employees cherish. It introduces the words (values) that each of the 500 KIRIN staff members holds dear. First of all, the interface is such that these words are stacked up like books. The idea that a large number of wise sayings are like "a stack of books" is interesting. The more words there are, the more weight you feel they carry.
It seems that all the words have been spoken in various media, and the project's design, which quotes and collects the most memorable parts as "values," is excellent. Furthermore, the words of the staff are piled up for each of the three VALUES and six PRINCIBLES of the "KIRIN WAY."It's also noteworthy that the company's guidelines aren't mere fantasies, but are based on actual statements made by the staff (they have substance).
7. Shun Natsui 🌊 Wave Photographer

This is the website of wave photographer Shun Natsui. His first video (FV) is textless and highly abstract. His biography states, "Time with waves is a dialogue without words. Time with waves is a dialogue without words," which explains why his FV is wordless.
The content, which is like a collection of fragments of the word "Ordinary," is presented in a wave-like manner. There is no "month display," only a "day display." It's as if the quietly repeating "days," like the phases of the moon, are what's important.
After reviewing the entire website, I felt that Ms. Natsui is a person with a strong vocabulary, exploring expression by moving between the wordless world of photography and the world of words. Incidentally, Ms. Natsui runs a business called "Ii Hito" (Good Person), where she handles web design, development, and content creation such as photography, video, and illustration.

8. DoKomi

This is the official website for "DoKomi," one of Germany's largest otaku culture events. As it's a pop culture event, each animation is bouncy and vibrant! The FV, masked with kana characters, and the logo that moves with mouse actions are catchy, and this logo is used extensively as a design motif throughout the site.
I believe that event websites should not only convey information but also "maintain an overall sense of excitement," and this includes things like the excessive (or perhaps over-the-top) motion of each element, the logo animation that appears on the site at regular intervals, and the screen saver effect when you leave the site and return. The website as a whole focuses on maintaining the festive atmosphere of the event.

9. Koba Clinic

The website for the ENT clinic "Koba Clinic".What catches the eye on this site is the logo, which is based on the motifs of "ears, nose, and throat."I also saw photos of the building, and the logo shines brightly against the gray concrete, making it a truly iconic logo that's instantly recognizable. And because the logo encompasses all three parts of the ear, nose, and throat, it can be directly incorporated as a design motif. It's a logo that's both visual and highly functional. The site's color scheme, which utilizes the building's colors, is pleasing to the eye and also serves as a way to differentiate it from competitors.
10. JorY

This is a promotional landing page by web designer JorY, who energetically creates numerous portfolio sites and self-produced works with his unique sensibility and free-thinking approach. It is themed around "kanji" (Chinese characters). The concept is "outlandish," and it's interesting how he breaks down four kanji characters to give them new meanings, and how he expands on associations with kanji to reinterpret them.
By using a monochrome palette throughout, the forms of the kanji characters are powerfully brought to life. The complex forms of kanji characters are beautifully harmonized with the simple forms of straight lines, circles, and dotted lines. This website treats the very form of kanji characters as part of the design.

Every site was interesting again this month!
Next time, I'll be writing a summary of the site for March. With the exciting Golden Week just around the corner at the end of April, I look forward to seeing you all again, and for now, I'll put down my fingers on the keyboard and step away from my PC. Until then!
