2025.08.24

Hello, this is the iDID Media editorial team.
This update is a little late because it coincided with the Obon holiday.
It's so hot, isn't it? This year the lingering summer heat is expected to last until October. To all of you reading this article, please remember to stay hydrated by drinking water frequently, even if you don't feel thirsty, and take care of your health. If this isn't done, it will be impossible to enjoy browsing the site, so we would really appreciate your cooperation.

So, this month's summary is about websites from July. I've selected 10 sites that will cool both your mind and body. I hope this article will be a breath of fresh air for you.

Then please!

1. One Hundred Designs | Daimaru Matsuzakaya Department Store

A website that conveys VI in a fun, picture-book-like way 📕

This July, this was a particularly hot topic on social media: the special website for Daimaru Matsuzakaya Department Store's new visual identity, "Hyakuyōzu" (One Hundred Patterns). Hyakuyōzu is "a representation of one hundred different values from which various patterns are born,"The key point is that it makes things that are difficult to grasp from words alone easy to understand and experience, much like a pop-up picture book. The rhythmic music, the tactile feel of the paper and the rustling sound that evoke a sense of physicality, the uplifting onomatopoeia—and the final tagline, "One, two, and then, bang, bang, and culture begins," are truly moving.

To convey visual identity in an easy-to-understand and enjoyable way, like a picture book. This is something only Mount-san could do. Rather than writing all this out, it's quicker if you just click on the image above to go to the website, so please do if you haven't already.

2. Changer Capital ANRI

CI = A transforming vessel = A logo that changes freely!

Above all, the impact of the 3D logo that rotates as you scroll is striking. Based on the new vision of "Overwhelming Future," the concept is "Crucible," a vessel that can freely transform in the face of an unseen future. This logo is designed so that the four letters "ANRI" only become visible from a specific angle, truly embodying the concept of a "transforming identity."

What's truly amazing is how this transformative nature is fully palpable on the website. You can understand the dynamism of the materials changing as you scroll, right from the homepage. The combination of the transforming 3D logo created by kern and Funtech's ability to fully embody that transformative nature resulted in a fantastic website.

WORK [ANRI] ChangerCapital, which realizes an "overwhelming future" together with entrepreneurs, handled the corporate website redesign for ANRI.

3. Daily evolution

The staff's illustrations look like they're happily walking around 🚶🚶🚶

The animation of the characters, presumably staff members of Nisshin Shinsei, happily walking along is so cute that it captures your heart just by looking at it. This is the Nisshin Shinsei website. The design of the business areas is like an internal company newsletter, and the way the white background is used to show that it was originally a large speech bubble is brilliant. And the design of the recruitment page is also great... Look at this, in the interview with the target person, they don't use a photograph, and just use an illustration to convey such presence and realism... It's a true display of the value of characters. NEWTOWN, who was in charge of creating the site, apparently gave the client business cards with illustrations as samples, and the quality of these is also outstanding.

4. 3rd inc.

A site that makes a quiet but powerful impact ⚡️

A slightly flattened Mincho typeface. A wide variety of photographs in all tones and their diverse expressions. The layout utilizes a "filled-in-the-blank" style, with the top and bottom body copy appearing directly. Characteristic animation appears throughout. While appearing to have a calm tone, innovative expressions appear in various places, such as the colors used, the layout, and the motion. The theme is "universal change," and the site aims for an expression that is both solid and surprising. Rather than being ostentatious, it is a site that emits a quiet impact, like a flame burning in stillness.

5. Rie Tanaka's Official Website

This is truly a site for getting work! 💃

This is the website of former gymnast Rie Tanaka. First of all, the performance and movements in her music video, which seem to convey Tanaka's background, are stylish. The way her Latest Works are presented is also well thought out, and her self-introduction in English is written in Roman letters. It's from these little details that you can get a sense of Tanaka's personality.

What's distinctive is the WORKS section, which, unusually for a celebrity-related website, clearly introduces the programs and jobs Tanaka has appeared in in her own words. Furthermore, "TEAM RIE" introduces the members who regularly work with Tanaka, giving you a concrete image of what her work is like.

All of these websites function precisely as tools to help Mr. Tanaka secure work.I felt that not only was her own enthusiasm evident, but that's also what sets it apart from typical entertainment-related websites.

6. Toranomon Advertising Festival Official Website

Each presentation and gimmick keeps you entertained.

I think this was created with a mobile-first approach, but the way the screen is designed doesn't immediately give that impression. The analog-style tagline, the eye in the logo being a mouse stalker, and that "eye" becoming a menu button on smartphones— every detail and gimmick keeps you engaged. I thought it was interesting to think about advertising in this day and age, but if you look closely, there's a "deliberately" inserted between "Toranomon" and "Advertising Festival" (laughs). It looks like an interesting event!

AD/CD: Kenjiro Sano
AD/Graphic Design: Yumi Katori
Copywriting: Emi Ota

7. ium

The contrast between the minimalist screen design and the performance display is striking 📺

The contrast between the "static" nature of the minimalist and calm screen design and the "dynamic" nature of the performance display, which allows for quick and easy browsing, is striking. The various menus are presented simply as sticky notes, but the contrast when you zap through them with the sticky notes still attached is interesting. Also, each achievement text has a sequential number attached, which represents the total number of "all of ium's work," including ongoing and personal projects, and the sheer volume is overwhelming. It's also refreshing to see ongoing projects listed.

However, I also felt that this website's interface embodies both the "beauty of being able to concisely express a single job in one line" and the "expression of feelings that cannot be put into words in one line."

CD, AD, Design: Chiyo Kodama (ium inc.)
Front-end Development: Ryo Ikeda (devdev inc.), Shinichi Shimomura (5ive Inc.)
Editor: Fukiko Daigo (ium inc.)
Copywriter: Hikaru Degawa (Nombre.LLC)

8. SmartHR 10th Anniversary | What people and society truly want

The tagline, "What people and society truly desire," is refreshing. ✍️

To commemorate its 10th anniversary, SmartHR has unveiled its new service vision, "worker-friendly," along with an overview of "the past 10 years" and "the next 10 years." SmartHR has color guidelines, but here, not only is the "Primary Brand Color," "SmartHR Blue," used, but various other colors called "Extended Colors" are also actively employed. I think the freshness of this color variation represents the future of SmartHR.

In a world where all kinds of services and products exist, it's becoming increasingly difficult to even know if what you're holding in your hands is something you truly want. The tagline, "What people and society truly desire," sounds very fresh and inspiring. This is a wonderful piece of copy that effectively conveys SmartHR's purpose.

9. S-Pro

What's interesting is that it's a kind of "meta" website 👀

This is a website for a creative production company, but the site itself is designed to resemble the editing screen of a video editing tool, allowing users to actually edit parts of S-Pro's portfolio videos. It 's interesting because it's a kind of "meta" website where users can not only communicate their achievements through the act of editing videos, but also experience video production itself.

10. HAKUJUJI

"A person full of love" - what a great tagline! ❤️

I love the tagline, "For people with love." The randomly changing taglines and photos are filled with the small joys of everyday life. What I liked was the "Release Schedule" feature. Just looking at the schedule of the sweets that are being announced one after another is fun, and it gives you a concrete reason to want to buy the products. It also comes across that HAKUJUJI regularly releases new sweets.
The excessive detail in the "loving, handcrafted" description comes across as a testament to their emphasis on "handcrafted" products. The fact that each product has its own copy and each store has its own comment is endearing. I feel like everything is ultimately encapsulated in the "loving, handcrafted" copy.

That's all!

How did you like our summary site for July 2025?

To pick out a few from this site,
- A methodology for conveying the visual identity (VI) of "Hyakuyōzu" in an easy-to-understand way, like a picture book. Perhaps this kind of approach is necessary for things where the context of VI is numerous.
- The evolving logo of "ANRI" and its reproducibility.
- A website designed to function as a business for "Rie Tanaka's official website."
- The company's spirit is revealed in the contrast between stillness and movement of "ium".
- How to increase interest in the product through the release schedule of "HAKUJUJI".
That left a lasting impression on me.

Thank you for reading to the end this time as well!
See you again next month. Have a great summer!
